Slow computers are not only annoying but incredibly frustrating. You can be using them to try and do some important work or even just to relax and watch a movie … when all of a sudden your mouse starts moving really slowly and all your programs freeze. It's a common problem and unfortunately, most people pay $ 100's to fix it with complicated upgrades or even a new PC.
However, if you've got a slow PC now, there is something you can do today to speed it up without any upgrades. This method of boosting your PC's performance not only helps your computer speed up but it also allows you to prolong its life (and value) by keeping it optimized into the future.
The reason why most computers go slow is not because the hardware (all the bits and pieces) are old. It's not because the computer is somehow outdated because if it was working okay in the beginning, something has been triggered to make it run slow, and it certainly was not the hardware. That's one of the big myths of computers -> that they somehow get slower because they are not the fastest, etc any more. This simply is not the case – it's like saying an older car gets slower with age just because there are newer and faster ones out now ….
The real reason why your computer is running slow is because of Windows. Windows has a nasty habit of clinging onto as many files and folders as possible and storing them in it's central database, known as the registry. This not only makes your computer confused but it also makes it somewhat 'fat' … wheree it so much extra baggage that it takes a lot longer just to search through it all, let alone using it.
So in order to speed your PC up, you just need to get rid of all the junk files that Windows has stored. These files come from uninstalled programs, Internet downloads and a host of other places and are simply not needed. They stay in the central registry database because that's where Windows feels the safest, which is good for us because we know where to hit them.
All you need to do is use a "registry cleaner" tool to scan your registry and then pick out the problematic files it might find. Because these tools have been specifically designed to pick out the most troublesome files and remove them forever, they can actually speed up your PC dramatically. And the best of it is that since they are simple software tools, you just need to install them and click on the "scan" button to initiate the search.
